Tell us a little about you
Originally from Berkshire and now live in sunny Dorset, just down the road from my parents
and the horses! I live with my new husband and our gorgeous blended family of four
teenagers and our beautiful little puppy Willow!

Where did your career start and how did it
evolve to where you are now?

Having grown up around horses all of my life it was inevitable I was going to go down the equine route at the beginning of my career, so trained to be an instructor and professional dressage rider and enjoyed every moment!

Life changed and I moved away from the equestrian world to follow my love for business and sales, starting my recruitment career in a generalist arena and then becoming a specialist executive headhunter within the hospitality sector. I fell in love with recruitment, and now have the opportunity to combine my old world with my new world I feel really lucky and I’m really enjoying the journey!

What do you enjoy about recruitment?
Everything… there isn’t much I don’t enjoy! I love the feeling you get when you just know you have made the perfect appointment for both your candidate and client – nothing beats that feeling.

What do you enjoy about working in the
animal-related industries?

Recruitment isn’t new to me, however, the sector is and I’m loving it. To work within an industry that really cares about what they do is so important to me and to incorporate my passion for recruitment and animals is a win-win!

What do you look for in a candidate?
Authenticity, passion and humanity! Having the ability to build strong relationships with candidates, to get to know what makes them tick, it’s a great way to unlock the skills they don’t know they have!

What is the one thing you think every CV
should have?

Without hesitation, personality! A great personal statement (it doesn’t have to be war and peace!) that reflects your personality makes a huge difference.

What is your top career advice?
Take action, and be brave, the next perfect role could be just around the corner!
